Schroder is looking to put his name in the history books as the newest four-time state champion. A fourth title will be well earned as 119 is stocked with talent. Jarrett Trombley won the 112 pound title last year as a freshman and is undefeated this year and would provide a dramatic opponent for Schroder in the finals. Serbus fell to Trombley in last year’s 112-pound title match.

Kilburn dropped a 3-0 decision to Devin Schroder in the 119 pound finals last season and has a good chance to make it back to the finals this year. Breece of Birch Run is a talented sophomore who could end up in the finals while Felt and Robinson of Shepherd are the class of the freshmen class at 125.

This could be one of the most competitive weight classes in Division 3. Krauss was the runner-up at 130 last year and is enjoying another big year. Martinez entered the regional with a perfect record while Suitor and Saxton are also top-level wrestlers capable of making it to the finals.

A pair of defending state champs lead the way at 135. Santos won the title at 130 last year while Brown took the 125-pound title. The two seniors are the big favorites to meet in the title match with talented sophomores Orrison and Melick also in the mix.

Seniors dominate this weight class with Blevins, Britton, and Todd all looking to end their career with a state title. A Blevins-Britton finale would be one to watch. Payne of Millington could be a surprise.

Storr is setting his sights on a third state title and is a big favorite to accomplish that goal. Who Storr faces in the finals is up for grabs but keep an eye on Sharp, Dowdell and Allen.

Sterling and Lieber look to be the favorites this weight class with Lieber looking to go out with a perfect record as a senior. Reed and Forbes are two more seasoned seniors that can reach the final match.

Karmon is aiming for a third straight state title and an undefeated senior season. Dumond is a talented junior from Corunna that is poised to make the finals while Childs is a senior veteran and Weatherspoon a promising freshman.

McCann is the favorite at 171 as he is looking to go out with an undefeated senior season. Thompson is a junior to watch while McKiernan is a talented sophomore from Richmond. Waterman and Reo and a pair of talents from Southwest Michigan that could crash the title match.

One of the deepest weight classes from top to bottom, a pair of defending champs top the chart. Whitman won the 171-pound title last season while Roehl took the 189-pound title. Reo and Phipps are a pair of strong juniors who are also capable of reaching the title match.

There is no clear-cut favorite at 215 where a number of wrestlers are capable of taking the top spot. Wilber, Deming and Gramza are standout seniors. Philo is an undefeated junior that has the ability to make the finals while Ferris is an outstanding sophomore capable of winning it all.

After capturing the 215-pound title last year, Hilger is poised to add the heavyweight title this year. Maki, last year’s state champion, fell to Hilger in the district final and must figure out a way to prevail over Hilger to keep his title.
