If Bullock Creek’s football team is to make major improvements from a 3-6 season a year ago, they’ll need Adam McCann to step up in a major way.

McCann is a 6’0″, 190-pound senior in his third varsity season with the Lancers. As a running back and a strong safety, he is considered one of the most versatile and productive athletes on the Bullock Creek roster.

From his sophomore to junior seasons, “I did not improve that much, but from this year to last year, I’ve been to six or seven college camps, so I feel pretty good,” McCann said. “I’ve been working out all summer. I already feel a lot better and optimistic about any season as I’ve been in the past. I’ve put on probably 35 pounds, and I’m a lot faster from running track.”

Last year, McCann was at wide receiver and defensive back. This season, he’s moved to running back.

“I feel pretty good about it; that’s where I was at in youth and JV football my freshman year,” he said. “I’m pretty comfortable there. I’m a very physical running back, I would say. I try to use my strength.”

McCann is confident that the Lancers have the potential to qualify for the playoffs.

“The size of our line is a lot bigger than last year, and we have a lot of team chemistry,” he said. “This year, we’re a lot closer.”
