2015 High School Sports Scene Wrestling Dream Team
1st Team
103) Cameron Mahlich, Ionia, so.: Mahlich became the second state wrestling champion in Ionia history when he won the title in Division 2. He finished the season with a 39-2 overall record.
112) Jarret Trombley, Corunna, fr.: Trombley squared off against teammate Tristen Serbus in the 112-pound finals in Division 3 and came away with the state title. Trombley was dominant all season and finished the year with a 47-1 record.
119) Lucas Hall, Lowell, jr.: Hall won a second straight individual state title and helped Lowell to a second straight team title this season. He finished the season with a 39-1 record.
125) Ben Freeman, Walled Lake Central, so.: Freeman capped a perfect 44-0 season by winning the Division 1 state title.
130) Matt Santos, Swan Valley, jr.: Santos finished in the top four in the state for a third straight season, as he won the 130-pound title in Division 3. His season record was 58-1.
135) Lincoln Olson, Davison, sr.: Olson put his name among the elite wrestlers of Michigan when he won a fourth state title this year. The Oklahoma State University recruit finished the season with a 52-0 record.
140) Dylan Steward, Grand Ledge, jr.: Steward became the first Grand Ledge wrestler to win an individual state title since 2009. He finished the season with a 44-2 record.
145) Chris Schoenherr, Bay City Western, sr.: Schoenherr wrapped up his career by winning the first state individual title in over 30 years for Western. He finished the season with a 58-2 record.
152) Jacob Gorial, Hartland, sr.: Gorial finished third in the state in Division 1, with his lone loss coming in the state semifinal round. He helped lead Hartland to the team state finals and finished the season with a 58-1 record.
160) Miles Amine, Detroit Catholic Central, sr.: A two-time state champion, Amine will be continuing his career at the University of Michigan next year. He went a perfect 47-0 this season and claimed the 160-pound title in Division 1.
171) Logan Massa, St. Johns, sr.: Massa wrapped up his career as a three-time state champion. The Division 2 champion at 171 pounds this year, Massa went 37-0 and will be continuing his career at the University of Michigan.
189) Jared Roehl, Millington, so.: Roehl went a perfect 49-0 this year and became only the second wrestler in Millington history to capture an individual state title.
215) Josh Colegrove, Lowell, sr.: Colegrove won his second straight state title at 215 pounds this season and finished with a 40-0 record.
285) Ryan Prescott, Whittemore-Prescott, sr.: Prescott was practically perfect this season, as he went 31-0 with 30 pins. He won a third straight state title and did not allow a point to be scored against him all season.
