Over the years, the Holt football program has produced several outstanding linemen. This year, it has another talented big man in senior Andy Adado.

Like the outstanding Ram linemen of the past, Adado is a big, athletic player who makes an impact on both sides of the football. On offense, he is a punishing blocker in both the running and passing games. On defense, Adado is a stone wall against the run and can collapse a pocket with his pass rush.

“Andy is having a great year playing on both sides of the ball,” said coach Al Slamer. “He is a three-year varsity starter and an all-conference performer as a junior. He has great mobility and quickness, and he is 6’4″, 280 pounds.”

That kind of size and ability is what college football teams are looking for, and the interest in Adado is sure to pick up as the season progresses. Although he does not have a scholarship offer yet, he has received plenty of interest from Western Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, and Ball State University in the Mid-American Conference, as well as from Saginaw Valley State University, Grand Valley State University, and most of the other GLIAC teams.

“Andy is a great kid,” Slamer said. “He is a team captain and a member of our players’ council leadership group. He plays basketball and ran track also as a sophomore. He has excellent grades with a great work ethic. He is probably an offensive lineman at the next level, most likely a center or guard, although this season he has shown some pretty good pass-rushing ability.”
