Lansing Sexton coach Dan Boggan is not reserved with his praise of star wide receiver/outside linebacker Rayshawn Wilborn. Eyes were definitely opened this summer” he said, referring to the offers Wilborn received from Western Michigan University and Central Michigan University.  Ray is a big-time player and myself and this entire team fully expect him to step up and make big-time plays when the games are on the line this season.”

This summer has been especially good to Wilborn. As the Big Reds traveled around the state playing in 7-on-7 tournaments, the college offers started coming in. In addition to the offers from Central and Western Michigan, an offer was submitted by Eastern Michigan University, as well.

The allure to be on the field as early as possible led Wilborn to choose Central Michigan University. They told me if I work hard, I could be on the field as a freshman.”

A 4.45 second 40-yard dash and a 37” vertical jump will help with that as well.

With the Division 5 semifinal loss to Marine City last year fresh on his mind, Wilborn is focused on one thing for himself and this team. I’m not making any excuses for last season, it was cold in the Marine City game, but that was the most physical team I have ever played against.” he said. But this season, we are going to make sure that Sexton is the most physical team all of our opponents play. If we don’t with the state championship, it isn’t because of a lack of talent, just preparation, and coach Boggan does a great job of making sure we are prepared.”
