Lansing Catholic defeated Waverly 48-20 on Thursday in the football season opener for both teams. Tony Poljan threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns and scampered for 126 yards and a TC to lead the winners, who were up 20-6 at halftime and scored 14 points in each of the final two quarters.
