Ally Harran, Powers Catholic; Player of the Year, senior, defender
Harran, a recent Powers graduate, was one of the state’s premier defenders during her four years as a Charger. A member of the state-wide dream team, her knack of getting to loose balls and clamping down on opponents’ best offensive players has her in a league of her own. She scored 11 goals and had three assists in 20 games this season for the Chargers, who finished 17-1-2 and lost to Detroit Country Day in the Division 3 regional final.
Harran was also a standout basketball player and helped lead Powers to the Breslin Center for the Class B final each of the last two years. She was offered scholarships from several Division 1 schools for soccer and basketball, a sport in which she earned Class B all-state honors. She will attend Wake Forest University.
Ashton Miller, Okemos, senior, forward
One of the premier players in the country, Miller will be taking her talents to Duke University in the fall.
Kristelle Yewah, Okemos, senior, forward
A staple of consistency for the Chieftains, Yewah can score from anywhere on the field. She’s quick and fast, and she has a knack for finding space on the field. She will be attending Michigan State University.
Maya Piper, Midland Dow, junior, midfield
Piper led the Chargers with 29 goals and 16 assists. She was named the team MVP, all-Saginaw Valley League, all-region, and first team all-state for Division 1.
Morgan McKerchie, Powers Catholic, senior, forward

Heather Rolls, Powers Catholic, senior, keeper
Rolls helped lead Powers to a 17-1-2 record during her senior campaign. She hasn’t seen a save she couldn’t make and will be taking her talents to Georgetown University in the fall.
Taryn Taugher, Freeland, junior, forward
Taugher had a hand in nearly a third of Freeland’s goals, with a team-high 24 goals and seven assists for 31 points, which netted her a spot on the first team Division 3 All-State squad. She helped guide the Falcons to the state semifinal round with a 21-3-3 mark. It was the first time in school history that the Falcons had made it that far.
Emma Kahn, Mt. Pleasant, senior, midfield
A first team all-state midfielder, Kahn orchestrated the Oilers on the field. She led Mount Pleasant to its second straight district championship and to its first win in a regional tournament. She finished the season with 17 goals and 15 assists.
Kristin Kueffner, Frankenmuth, senior, defender
Kueffner received all-state honors in each of her three full seasons on varsity, including first team honors as a senior. A two-time captain, she is also an academic all-state player. The Eagles allowed just 19 total goals in her junior and senior years, years that she orchestrated the team’s defense from her sweeper position.
Grace Bubin, Rockford, junior, field player
Bubin was a standout player for the Rams this season and will be one of the top players in the Sports Scene’s coverage area next year.
Lindsay Stroebel, Nouvel Catholic Central, senior, midfield
