New Lothrop and Beal City were the two premier teams in the state in Division 4 baseball this season. The Hornets and Aggies battled it out for the state championship with New Lothrop coming out on top and the two teams also dominated when it came to dishing out post-season awards.
Both teams had two players each earn first-team, all-state honors in Division 4. New Lothrop senior infielder and Hornet junior pitcher Grant Steinborn both were named first-team all-state. Sophomore pitcher Cameron Pope was named second-team, all-state for New Lothrop.
Senior pitcher Ty Rollin and senior catcher Nick Hoogerhyde also earned first-team, all-state honors for Beal City.
Two other area players earned first-team, all-state honors including Breckenridge senior infielder Wade SanMiguel and Lansing Christian junior outfielder Josh Parks.
