Kirsten Olling of Breckenridge High School, a four-time state cross country champion, has signed her National Letter of Intent to run for Arizona State University.
“Olling, has made a major impact in girls distance running in Michigan,” said Breckenridge cross country coach Royce Humm. “Kirsten has an outstanding resume in cross country including a personal record of 17:17.5, being named the 2013 Gatorade Michigan Cross Country Runner of the Year, and bringing home 4 straight individual Division 4 State Championships. Playing a major role in the success of the Breckenridge Cross Country program, she helped lead her team to a Division 4 State Runner-up title in 2013.
“She builds on this success in the spring during the Track and Field season, bringing home 4 straight Division 4 3200 Meter Run Championships, being the 1600 Meter Run Champion in 2011, and earning All-State honors in the 1600 Meter Run in 2012. She joined three of her teammates to earn All-State honors in the 3200 Meter Relay in 2013.”
Olling signed her National Letter of Intent to run for Arizona State University on Feb. 12.
“She is one of the best distance runners in our school’s history,” said Humm. “She brought a high level of work ethic, dedication and leadership to our program and will serve as a great example to future runners for years to come. She will be a great addition to the exemplary distance program at ASU.”
