Clare’s wrestling team lost to Gaylord’s B squad 40-39 Thursday night. Michael Evers at 125 pounds got things rolling and pinned his opponent to put Clare on the board. Braxton Gomez at 145, Emery at 160, Eric Litke at 171 and Brandon Ayris at 189 all pinned their opponents. Hart Smalley wrestled an extremely tough match and beat out his opponent at 215 pounds 6-3. At 285, Bob Green won by void.
“It was a tough night for us as a team,” McKay said. “Between voids and inexperience, we just can’t put enough points on the board.”
