Portland posted 195 points Saturday to take fifth place out of nine teams at the Ionia Invitational. Derek Gardner had Portland’s best day as an individual wrestler. He was second at 152 pounds. He was pinned in the championship match by Dillon Decker.
Carson City-Crystal won the match with 349 points, followed by Livonia Stevenson with 272, Jackson Lumen Christi with 244, Hudsonville Unity Christian with 202, Portland with 195, Ionia with 194, Delton Kellogg with 184, Lansing Eastern with 154.4 and Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern with 100.
