Belding’s wrestling team had a big night on Wednesday with a 64-15 dual victory over Coopersville. Belding got wins from Max Walker at 103 pounds with a pin in 1:09, Michael Hunter at 112 with a pin in 0:42, Maison Krieger at 119 with a 17-5 major decision, Nate Colley at 125 with a pin in 1:12, Jesse Scheidel at 130 with a pin in 1:29, Connor Barker at 135 with a void, Aleks Silva at 140 with a pin in 3:55, Brady Phelps at 145 with a pin in 5:38, Michael Walker at 160 with a pin in 1:42, Blake Rodarmer at 171 with a pin in 1:32 and Neil McCully at 189 with a pin in 1:55.
“We wrestled well on our feet and worked hard to escape from the bottom. I was particularly pleased with our work on top,” said Belding coach Travis Meyer. “We were aggressive and finished when we got the opportunity.”
