Big Rapids hockey team will be playing Wednesday at Comerica Park in Detroit in the hockey town Winter Festival. The event is leading up to the 2014 NHL Winter Classic with the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs Jan. 1, 2014 in Ann Arbor.
The Cardinals played over the weekend in Gaylord at the North/South showcase. Big Rapids lost 4-1 to Riverview on Friday, Garrett Garner scored for Big Rapids.
The Cards won 3-2 over Chelsea on Saturday and now have a 2-5 record.
Garrett Daumer, Preston Hughes and Brad Walling scored for Big Rapids.
