Midland’s high school football season has ended at 10-2 after last weekend’s 24-7 loss to Muskegon in the Division 2 regional finals. Muskegon, 11-1, advances to the state semifinals.
Muskegon built a 21-0 halftime lead, playing on its home field.
Midland scored its only points in the third quarter when Tanner Gross passed 12 yards to Jordan Wilson and Philip Wandor kicked the extra point.
Defensively, Michael Alexander had 14 tackles for Midland plus an interception while Matt McInerney had 12 tackles.
Gross was 11-of-23 for a 47.8 percent completion and 100 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Austin Irrer caught five passes for 50 yards while Will Williams had four receptions for 27 yards and Wilson had one catch for 12 yards. Williams rushed 17 times for 30 yards. Irrer rushed five times for 48 yards.
