Rockford has improved to 44-12-0 following Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Grand Haven in the Class A regional semifinals at Caledonia. Grand Haven’s season ended at 42-18-1.
Grand Haven won the first game 25-20. But Rockford prevailed in the next three 25-17, 25-20, 25-8.
Leaders for Rockford were Abby Carlson with four kills and 36 assists, Toryanna deYoung with seven kills and 2.5 blocks, Sarah Hayataka with five assists and 15 digs, Kendra DeJonge with eight kills, Chloe Vanderweide with one ace, eight kills and three blocks, Shannon Winicki with 15 kills, Karlee Tykosky with five kills, three blocks and seven digs, MacKenzie Vallad with one ace and Baylee Vaughan with one ace.
Rockford will play in Thursday’s title match.
