Saginaw Valley Lutheran ended its volleyball season at 24-20-7 in the Class C district finals last week at Saginaw Nouvel with a 3-2 loss to Hemlock 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-5.
Valley Lutheran had some strong individual efforts but was unable to pull out the win in a tight match.
Kelsey Hackman had 14 kills and two blocks for Valley Lutheran while Addie Pickelman had nine kills, Emily Puersky contributed 12 digs and Amy Peck had three aces, five kills, 25 assists and seven digs.
