Hemlock has advanced to Class C regional volleyball action this week but it wasn’t easy getting past Saginaw Valley Lutheran last week in the Class C district 86 finals at Saginaw Nouvel. Hemlock won the first game 25-20, but lost the second 25-19. Hemlock took the third game 25-22 but lost the fourth 26-24. It came down to the fifth game and it was all Hemlock 15-5.
Hemlock was led by Karli Herrington with 34 kills and five blocks while Abbi Phillipson and Aubrey Alfano had eight kills apiece. Brookie Pillion had four aces and 56 assists for Hemlock. Hemlock will play New Lothrop in the regional semifinals Tuesday at Ubly.
