Saginaw Swan Valley fired out to leads of 28-6 after the first quarter and 44-6 at halftime en route to a 54-28 victory over Essexville-Garber on Friday in the Division 4 state district finals.
Alex Grace had scoring runs of 23, 41, 5 and 34 yards in the first quarter and a scamper of 1 yard for a TD in the second quarter. Alex Dils caught a 12-yard pass from Nick Call and Ben Finzel booted a 29-yard field goal in the second half for Swan Valley. Justin Nelson had a 37-yard field goal and Zach Fourman a 3-yard run in the second half for Swan Valley.
Grace had 262 yards rushing on 19 carries for Swan Valley.
Swan Valley plays at Lansing Sexton on Saturday in the regional title game.
