Portland St. Patrick’s 8-man team ended its season with a 54-18 loss to Carsonville Port Sanilac in the first round this month. But it was quite a season for St. Patrick in its second year as an 8-man team.

The Shamrocks were 7-0 before the eighth week of the season when they ran into a buzzsaw and lost 68-14 to Battle Creek St. Philip. Carsonville-Port Sanilac was the opposition for the final regular-season game and defeated Portland St. Patrick 45-12. But when the 8-man playoffs were set, it was a rematch with C-PS facing St. Patrick again. The Shamrocks had a chance for revenge but could not take advantage.
