A dream season for the Frankenmuth football team came to an end Friday night in a 33-29 loss to Millington, which will play Muskegon Oakridge for the regional title. Frankenmuth was up 15-8 after the first quarter and 29-14 at halftime. But Millington outscored the home team 19-0 in the second half.

Nick Volk had a 35-yard scoring pass to Brian Stearns in the first quarter and also had a 28-yard scoring run. Stearns had an 81-yard run and Tyler Janson a 16-yard pass reception from Volk for two more scores in the second quarter. Volk was 10-of-18 for 172 yards. Tyler Janson caught four passes for 76 yards. Stearns had 153 yards rushing.

Nick Szczepanski, Derek Warnemuende and Anthony Schurr had six tackles apiece for Frankenmuth.
