Morley Stanwood has won the showdown against St. Louis for the Class C district volleyball title and will now go after a regional championship at its home courts.

The Mohawks (41-10-1) took that experience earned a 3-1 victory (19-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-23) over the host Sharks to win the district championship home to Morley.

Mekayla Carey had two aces, three blocks, 17 kills and 19 digs for the Mohawks while Kayla Rosman contributed five aces and 21 kills. Lindsey Veersma scored seven kills and had 36 assists while Jennie Kizer added 18 digs and Heather Hart had 16 digs.

 

The Mohawks are home Tuesday against White Cloud in the regional finals. The Mohawks beat WC during the regular season.
