Lansing Catholic was one of many teams that did not get enough wins to automatically qualify for the state playoffs. But to fill its 256 teams allotment for the playoffs, the state took the 5-4 teams with the highest playoff point total in each class. That’s how Lansing Catholic got into the playoffs at 5-4.

It will enter the playoffs by facing the host team, Ovid-Elsie in the first round of the playoffs this week. The winner will play either Grand Rapids West Catholic or Portland in the second round of the playoffs. The regionals are Nov. 15 and 16. The semifinals are Nov. 23 and the Division 4 state finals are Nov. 30 at Ford Field in Detroit.
