Vestaburg’s 3-0 start in football was impressive, but it came to an end September 20 with a 24-6 loss to Carson City-Crystal.
The Wolverines started the season well. They won in impressive fashion against Brethren 63-8. Austin Meyers threw for 262 yards and six touchdowns. Christian Benavidez had 105 yards receiving and Keigan Ryckman had 113 yards rushing. Dewayne McKinney had four catches for 85 yards.
The win over Brethren put Vestaburg at 3-0.
Danny Ryckman is coach of the Wolverines, who opened the season with 32-0 and 50-12 victories over Breckenridge and Onekama.
Vestaburg’s schedule will toughen with upcoming games against Coleman, Sacred Heart Academy, and Montabella.
