Lansing Catholic’s boys tennis team is tied for third place in the Division 4 state finals at Grand Blanc after Friday action. The second and final round is today.
Matt Heeder of Lansing Catholic had a first-round bye. He’s the No. 1 seed. He then defeated Sam Holmes of Traverse City St. Francis 6-2, 6-1. He then topped Michael Bulger of Almont 6-0, 6-1 and on Saturday in the semifinals will face Joey Ellis of Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
In No. 2 singles, Anthony Davis of Lansing Catholic drew a bye and then defeated Joe Farber of Essexville-Garber 6-2, 6-0 and defeated Gage Selvous of Grand Rapids South Christian 6-4, 6-4.
The No. 1 doubles team of Emmet Lehmen and Chris Catellani is also in the semifinals as is the doubles team of Ben Clark and Evan Ward.
