Rockford’s swim team is 3-0 in the O-K Red after an impressive win against Hudsonville last Thursday.

Rockford came away with a 205-104 victory over the Eagles in OK Red Conference girls swim and dive competition.

“Hudsonville definitely had the ability to provide us with a lot of races,” said Rockford coach Tom Parks. “We definitely wanted to take advantage of that. In my mind, they’ll be a top 10 team at state.”

Sara Fredricks was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.35 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.65 while Erin Hudson won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle in 24.61 and 54.11 seconds.

Kara Vandawater was first in the 200-yard intermediate in 2:12.65 and was on two winning relay teams with the 200 medley, that included Christina Hansen, Madison Trible and Hudson in 1:52.0, plus the 400 freestyle relay that had Emily Smith, Meegan Snyman and Marissa Marion in 3:44.25.

Trimble won the 100 freestyle in 1:01.5 and Dela Kornak-Kotarba won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.09.

 

The Rams also took the one-meter dive with Olivia Dopkiss taking first with 226.55 points and the 200 freestyle relay with Dakota, Snyman, Marissa Marion and Hudson in 1:41.20.
