Central Michigan Athletic Conference golfers dominated play at the Division 4 regional tournament May 30 at the Portland Country Club.
The top four spots were claimed by CMAC schools with Fowler winning the district title with a 325. Pewamo-Westphalia placed second with a 348 followed by Bath in third with 354 and Middleton-Fulton in fourth place with a 356. Also qualifying for this week’s regional tournament were Lansing Christian in fifth place with 371 and Blanchard-Montabella in sixth place with 380.
Fowler had three golfers finish in the top five individually. Senior Andy Birchmeir led the way as he placed second with a 77 followed by junior Austin Feldpausch who was fourth with an 81 and senior Caleb Thelen who placed fifth with an 82. Junior Joseph Smith rounded out the top four for Fowler as he also finished in the top ten as he finished 8th with an 85.
Senior Tate Bierestetel and freshman Drew Thelen led the way for Pewamo-Westphalia as they both tied for eighth place with rounds of 85. Senior Dane Schafer finished 14th with an 88 while junior Ross Wolniakowski carded a 90.
Sophomore Gregg Jones led the way for Middleton-Fulton as he placed sixth overall with an 83. Sophomore Ross Baltimore finished in a tie for eighth place with an 85 while sophomore Jarrett Coblentz carded a 91.
Senior Dylan Parks led the way for Bath as he finished third overall with a 79. Senior Gavin Schmidtmann fired an 87 while senior Tyler Miner shot an 89 for the Bees.
Lansing Christian was led by junior Tucker Riffle who placed seventh with an 84 and senior Nay Noyola who placed eighth with an 85.
Senior Parker Eldred and junior Michael Hyde led the way for Blanchard-Montabella as they both shot rounds of 89 to placed 15th overall.  
Junior Austin Walker of Webberville captured medalist honors with a 72.
Qualifying for the regional meet as individuals were a pair of Portland St. Patrick golfers. Josh Osborne qualified with a 94 while Chelsea Pline qualified with a 109.
