In the Spotlight: The Bullock Creek pitchers allowed one walk and two hits in the Lancers TVC Central opener against Alma. Akin struck out 16 in the 2-1 win.
Career Highlights: Last year Akin was almost unhittable, finishing the year with a 0.78 ERA, 136 strikeouts, and only 19 hits allowed all season. He finished the season with a 9-0 pitching record, a .446 batting average, and 18 extra base hits at the plate. Those stats earned him First Team TVC Central All-Conference, All-District First Team, All-Region First Team, All-State First Team honors.
College: Akin will be going to Western Michigan University to play baseball and to study pharmaceuticals or business.
