At Crossroads Charter Academy,Baldwin mustered enough offense to come out on top 52-27 for a West Michigan D League win over the Cougars on Friday.
Baldwin led 20-17 at halftime and opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run. All Crossroads could muster in the third was a free throw from Joseph Balenda.
“We played a good first half defensively, I thought,” said Crossroads coach Jason Kostecki. “We changed some things up, Baldwin missed some shots and kept us close.”
Caleb Balenda led Crossroads with eight points.
Both teams were plagued with turnovers in the second quarter. Caleb Balanda kept the Cougars in the game with four second-quarter points.
The Cougars had 27 boards, led by Caleb Balanda with six. Both teams struggled at the free-throw line with Baldwin 13-of-27 and Crossroads 5-of-15.
Crossroads, 0-8 in the league and 1-9 overall, plays Pentwater Tuesday at home.
