The Belding Redskins suffered from poor shooting in the first half to fall far behind and couldn’t catch up in taking a 62-45 O-K Blue setback to the Sparta Spartans in O-K Blue Conference boys basketball action on Tuesday
Kole Hart scored eight points in the first half for the Redskins but Belding, as a team, only had five points in the second quarter and fell behind by 21 at halftime.
Brendan Zuver had seven points in the third quarter for Belding including a layup at the one-minute mark but Sparta had a 43-25 advantage. Hart scored a layup at the buzzer and it was 43-29.
Hart opened the fourth with a triple and it was 43-32.
But Sparta followed with a 5-0 run.
Hart led Belding with 17 points while Zuver added 13 and Brendan Sutherland added six.
