The Corunna wrestling team started off 2013 with a pair of strong efforts.
In their first tournament of the new year the Cavaliers turned in a 3-2 record at the North Branch Invitational. Emilio Campos (112 pounds) and Cody Conklin (189) led the way for the Cavaliers as they both went 5-0 on the day. Tristan Serbus (103), Dylan Cannon (135) and Alex Mart (152) turned in 4-1 records.
The Cavaliers followed up that performance with a 54-22 win against Portland in a league match. Corunna received a combined 36 points from Tristan Serbus (103), Dylan Wibert (125), Dylan Cunningham (140), Deven Robinson (160), Tyler Thayer (171) and Cody Conklin (189) who all won by pin.
Corunna takes to the road Saturday when they head to Caro for the Caro Invitational.
