Tri County’s wrestling team has had a good holiday break which started at the recent Chippewa Hills Joe Loren Memorial Invitational with the Vikings taking seventh place.
Tri County had a first place, a pair of thirds, one fifth and one sixth, plus two sevenths.
Viking senior Tommy Gilbert got the first place effort for Tri County and is now 10-2. He had a major decision at 103 pounds over Richie Ostrander of Chippewa Hills in the title match.
Rick Kilts was third at 215 pounds and is 8-3. Nick Meghan was third at 103 and 12-1 as a freshman.
Justyn Veneklasen wound up in fifth place and now has a 10-4 record.
Jesse Britton took sixth place at 130 pounds and is now 9-4.
Hunter Brimmer was seventh at 119 pounds and is now 5-2. Jason Vandyken was seventh at 189 and has an 8-6 record.
