Portland St. Patrick entered the holiday break with a 50-45 victory over the Carson City-Crystal Eagles in non-league girls basketball action Thursday night.
Courtney Dixon led St. Patrick with 12 points while Danielle Simon added 10 points.
St. Patrick improved to 6-1 while the Eagles fell to 4-2.
“It’s a good win for us,” St. Patrick coach Al Schrauben said. “They’re a nice ballclub. We have a little more depth than they do. They won the league last year. It was a good win for us for a nonleague game.”
The Eagles were led by Mikayla Duflo with 15 points.
“We need to go back to work, shore up our ball skills and make sure we’re taking better care of the basketball than we did today,” said Eagle coach Larry Farmer. “We turned the ball over too much.”
