Dave Hill is in his fifth year of coaching the co-op Lansing Waverly-Catholic boys swim team that will be led by junior Ben Rentz and senior Tommy Quinn in the distance free, butterfly and sprint events.

Hill is confident his team can finish in the top two of the CSAC Red and top 20 in the state, Division 2.

“We graduated zero from last year’s team, although a couple of guys transferred out.  Quinn and Rentz provide power, we have some depth to back them up,” Hill said. “We should move up a couple of spots in the league. I hope to back up our 16th place finish at state meet.”

Dexter, Groves, Seaholm, Holland,  Ann Arbor Pioneer and Ann Arbor Skyline are expected to be among the top teams in the state, Hill said, adding that top swimmers will be Adam Marsh of Okemos, Ben Martin of Midland Dow and Patrick Jackson of Grosse Pointe South.
