Saranac fell behind early and couldn’t catch up to the Byron Eagles in a 65-41 nonleague boys basketball loss.
It was the opener for both teams.
John Kinsman netted 10 points for Saranac while Dustin Hardy and Ryan Vance added eight apiece.
“We did OK but we could have done other stuff better,” Kinsman said. “Shooting the ball, we work on that at practice. We have to work at getting the ball to the middle.”
Turnover problems haunted the Redskins.
“We are young and some of our returners didn’t have tons of floor experience from last year,” said Saranac coach Carmen Brown. “But they’re a great group of kids. We go back to the drawing board and fix what we need to fix.”
Working on the pressbreaker will be critical for her team, Brown indicated.
“There were a lot of things that I know we can do better,” said Brown. “I have three sophomores and a freshman at varsity.”
