Battle Creek St. Philip won its seventh straight Class D and 18th overall title Saturday with a 3-0 sweep over Beal City in the state title game at Kellogg Arena.

The Aggies, who finished at 45-11-1, gave St. Philip a battle, but the Tigers prevailed 25-21, 25-15, 25-18.

St. Philip ended the season at 73-2-1.

Addie Schumacker had seven kills and five digs for the Aggies while Melanie Schafer added six kills and nine digs, followed by Jordan Schneider with four kills, Jade Kennedy with 23 assists and eight digs and Monica David with three kills and two digs.

Miss Volleyball Amanda McKinzie and Sierra Hubbard-Neil combined for 37 kills for  St. Philip.

It was Beal City’s first state finals appearance.
