Led by Mr. Soccer Dewey Lewis, the Rockford soccer team had a total of four players earn all-state honors in Division 1 this season.
Lewis, who will be continuing his soccer career at Michigan State University next season, led the Rams with 18 goals and 13 assists this season. Lewis also helped Rockford turn in a 17-3-4 record.
Lewis was also named first-team, all-state in addition to being named Mr. Soccer by the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association. Rockford also had three other players earn all-state honors as junior midfielder Eli Appleby was named to the second team, junior midfielder Dillon Herried was selected third team and senior defender Jamie Staley was named honorable-mention, all-state.
Grand Blanc, which reached the Division 1 state title match before falling to East Kentwood 1-0, had a trio of players earn all-state. Junior defender Jake Waier was named second-team, all-state while senior forward Dominic Mastromatteo and senior midfielder Chris Sullivant were both named honorable-mention.
Okemos had a trio of players earn all-state honors. Senior goalkeeper Landon Collier and senior field player Josh Robison were both named second-team, all-state and junior forward Dean Bloembergen was named honorable-mention.
Senior forward Dylan Matthews of Midland also earned honorable-mention, all-state honors.
