Many runners had excellent days Nov. 3 at the state cross country finals at Michigan international Speedway.
Kirsten Olling of Breckenridge was first for the third straight year in Division 4 girls in 17:59.6. Taylor Smith of Montabella was fourth in 18:54.7. Beal City was fourth as a team.
Connor Mora was of Cedar Springs was first in 15:04.2 and Tanner Hinkle of Mason second in 15:09.8. Cedar Springs was fourth as a team and Mason fifth.
Pewamo-Westphalia was third for the boys in Division 4. Tanner Droste was eighth in 16:21.
The Rockford boys were third in Division 1, Austin Benoit was 12th in 15:42.6 to lead the Rams.
Kenzie Weiler of Cedar Springs was second in 17:49.1 for the Division 2 girls while Megan O’Neil was seventh in 18:14.2.
Freeland was fifth in the Division 3 boys, led by Alex Stowell, 15th in 16:19.3. Ithaca was sixth, led by Stephen Merchant, 19th, in 16:23.8.
Lansing Catholic Central was fifth in the girls Division 3 race, led by Emma Frost, 14th in 19:00.6. Racquel Serna of St. Louis was second in 17:59.8.
