The Rockford girl’s cross country team will be on its way to Michigan International Speedway this Saturday after the Rams captured the Division 1 regional championship at Allendale.

Rockford totaled 39 points to take first place while Grand Haven was second with 69 and Grandville third with 71. Lowell finished in the top 10 in ninth place while Greenville placed 11th as a team.

Junior Lauren Brasure paced Rockford as she finished second overall individually with a time of of 18:28.51. Claire Borchers of Grand Haven was the overall individual winner with a time of 18:23.44.

Junior Morgan Harney of Rockford finished sixth overall while the Rams also received strong efforts from freshman Morgan Benoit (ninth, 18:52.56), sophomore Kerianne Schoff (10th , 18:57.78), sophomore Natalie Napolillo (12th, 19:09.45), sophomore Maegan Roach (19th, 19:25.01) and sophomore Maja Hill (20th, 19:35.67).

Junior Jessica Graves led the way for Lowell as she placed 21st with a time of 19:38.74. Junior Rachael Walters placed 34th for the Red Arrows in a time of 20:21.07 followed by freshman Haley Engles (58th, 21:34.43 and Mary Leasure (59th, 21:38.87).

Junior Sarah Austin led the way for Greenville as she placed 46th in a time of 21:01.53. Austin was followed by junior Madison Sorsen (51st, 21:11.87) and junior Ali Loding (57th, 21:31.14).
