REMUS — In Saturday’s Chippewa Hills Invitational, Megan O’Neil won the girls race for Chippewa Hills in 18:39.82 and teammate Emily Starck was third in 19:26.41.
The Warriors were fourth in both Division 2 boys and girls divisions.
“I was pretty happy, we were trying a bunch of different paces,” O’Neil said. “It worked out pretty well. I’m ready for regionals.”
Starck said she put focus on her second mile.
“I improved,” she said. “I would like to improve more. I’ve been improving in each race.”
The top 15 makes it out of the regionals to the state and Chippewa Hills’ third runner, Kylie Schafer, who was 10th in her division Saturday in 21:11.28, hopes to qualify.
”Kylie is right there at the edge,” Vanderveen said. “She’s in a good position. But next weekend there will be different teams.”
Chris Oates led the Chip Hills boys with 17:49.33 and 20th place.
