The Owosso boy’s soccer team is looking to gain momentum as it heads into next week’s state tournament.

The Trojans picked up some of that momentum when it came from behind to defeat Eaton Rapids 2-1.

Mattias Persson scored a late goal to give the Trojans the winning point.

Eaton Rapids took an early 1-0 lead before Luke Lindquist tied the match for Owosso.

With the win, Owosso improved to 8-9-1 for the season.

Owosso begins play in the Division 2 state tournament on Tuesday when it faces Haslett in the semifinals of the East Lansing district tournament at 5 p.m.

The winner of the Owosso/Haslett match will play the winner of the East Lansing/DeWitt game in one semifinal match on Thursday.
