After opening the season with a tough, non-conference loss, the Hemlock Huskies are in the middle of the race for the Tri-Valley Central title.

Hemlock opened the season dropping a 28-14 decision to Frankenmuth. The Huskies quickly regrouped from that loss with a 35-0 win against Shepherd in the league opener. That was followed by league wins against Bullock Creek, Chesaning and Alma. The 38-6 win against Alma broke a two-game losing streak against Alma and kept Hemlock atop the league standings.

Offense has been the name of the game for the Huskies. After scoring 14 points in the opener, Hemlock has scored at least five touchdowns in the next four games.

Running backs Dylan Honsinger and Tony Speckhard have led the way for Hemlock as they have combined for over 700 yards rushing.

The Huskies face the toughest part of the schedule in the next two games as they face 4-1 Swan Valley this Friday and 4-1 Freeland on Oct. 5.
