This football season has been one of ups and downs for the Wolfpack of Laingsburg.

Laingsburg opened the season in a big way as it defeated Sand Creek 56-49 in an old-fashioned barn burner.

Defense has been a problem for the Wolfpack who are 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the conference after five games this season. Laingsburg’s defense has held only one team this season to less then 20 points.

Offensively, the team has a potent offense led by quarterback Jake Zielinski and running back Christian Dell. Zielinski has passed for 500 yards and five touchdowns in four games. The Wolfpack ground attack is paced by Zielinski and Dell who combined for over 350 yards rushing in the first four games of the season.

To qualify for the playoffs the Wolfpack will have to win out which will be a tall order. This Friday Laingsburg faces 3-2 Bath in a key rivalry game. The Wolfpack then take on winless Potterville, face 3-2 Saranac and close out the season against a Stockbridge team that is 1-4 this season.
