After falling to Mendon in its season opener, the Fowler football team has regrouped to reel off four straight wins to reach the halfway point of the prep football season with a 4-1 record.

The Eagles dropped a 27-7 decision to Mendon in a rematch of last year’s Division 8 state title game. The Eagles quickly regrouped with four straight wins including a key 9-7 win over Saranac in a defensive battle.

The Eagles have been led by a strong ground game that is churning out over 260 yards per game. Senior running back Tyler Koenigsknecht paces that ground game as he is averaging over 150 yards rushing per game. Koenigsknecht is also the ringleader of the defense as he averages over 11 tackles per game.

The Eagles are battling for another CMAC title and on Oct. 5 have their annual grudge match with Pewamo-Westphalia which should also decide this year’s league champion.

Fowler wraps up the season with a key game against Manchester.
