Five questions with Travis Smith, junior quarterback from Ithaca:

2.) What has winning two straight Division 6 state championships done to the community of Ithaca, especially when it comes to Friday nights in the fall?

A.) “Especially after we won that first state championship, there’s definitely a lot more people coming out and watching us on a Friday night and giving us support.”

3.)Who is your favorite NFL player and why?

A.) “I’ve got to say Matt Stafford [of the Detroit Lions.] He’s a great guy and a great quarterback.”

4.) What is your favorite college football team and why?

A.) “The Michigan Wolverines, I was growing up liking them.”

5.) What is it about football that makes it unique to you more so than any other sport?

A.) “Football is a lot more of a team sport so we can all come together. We’ll have our own responsibilities. I like being on the team, coming together, and making sure everything is going good. [Spectators] come to watch the whole team working together. It’s not just a one-person game, it’s the whole team.”
