Alma College
Alma has a new coach in the former head skipper at Defiance College and Michigan Center, Greg Pscodna. He’ll try to turn around a program that was 2-8 last year and 1-5 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
Offense: The offense will be led by linemen Eric Story and Matt Scharlow, wide receiver Mike Lenneman, and quarterback Jarret Leister.
Defense: Leading the way will be Andrew Funsch and Luke Kanine at defensive back and Frank Furnari and Brett Mageli on the defensive line.
Scouting Report: Alma will have to adjust to a new coach who took the job in January.
Our Take: Alma was predicted to take fifth in the seven-team MIAA. That sounds about right.
Coach’s Comment: “We have 50 kids returning that played last year with four starters back on offense. On defense, we’ll have a lot of new faces. We were going to have a roster of about 125 players. We’ve had a good recruiting year. We’re bringing in about 65 to 70 freshmen.”
