Cade Dailey’s foot has been getting the job done for Tri County’s soccer team.
The Viking senior is in his fourth varsity season. He had 10 goals in Tri County’s first six games. His previous high for a season came as a junior when he scored 21 goals.
“If we keep playing good soccer as a team, I think I’ll have the opportunity to do so,” he said of breaking the 21-goal mark. “Out of the four seasons, this will be the best season I’ve been a part of.”
Tri County was 5-1 after the first six games.
“The key has been the attitude of everyone on the team,” he said. “Everyone seems to want it this year. We’re giving 100 percent in practice and it’s flowing over into the games.”
Dailey has played soccer since the age of 4. He’s happy the way things are going his senior season.
“Having the opportunity to play for (an offseason) team from Rockford has helped me a lot. It’s improved my game. I’m more physical, more aggressive and working harder, knowing what to do with the ball.”
Dailey plays center midfield-forward.
“I see the field pretty well and make good passes,” he said. “We have some good competition coming our way. If we play good soccer and move the ball, we’ll be fine.”
