The Eaton Rapids football team opened the season by coming out on the short end of a shootout with the Leslie Blackhawks, 50-28.
Eaton Rapids quarterback Jared McDaniel passed for 260 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Greyhound offense. James Cruz caught six passes for 91 yards and a touchdown while Jacob Oberline-Scott caught five balls for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Eaton Rapids returns to action Thursday against rival Mason in Mason.
