The Mason Bulldogs opened the new football season in dramatic fashion with a 24-17 come-from-behind win at home against Okemos.

Trailing 17-0 in the third quarter, the Bulldogs reeled off 24 straight points to pull out the win.

Austin Droscha rushed for 110 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown for Mason. Bulldog quarterback Nathan Jones totaled 148 yards passing and connected with Doug Bradfield on a 80-yard touchdown pass.

Chris Nelson led the way for Okemos with 127 yards rushing and scored a touchdown. Kome Johnson added 71 yards rushing and quarterback Jacob Devine tossed a pair of touchdown passes.

Mason returns to action Thursday when it hosts Eaton Rapids while Okemos is home to Haslett.
