Sophomore quarterback Jacob Johnson made his varsity debut in a big way as he helped lead DeWitt to a 38-14 win against Mt. Pleasant.

Johnson had a hand in five touchdowns as he threw for three and ran for two scores. Johnson finished the game with 246 passing yards and also ran for 57 yards.

Senior wide receiver Ryan Anderson caught eight passes for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Andrew Clements caught three balls for 65 yards and a score.

Mt. Pleasant running back Michael Tweh led the Oilers with 88 yards rushing while Cory Williams added 60 yards on the ground.

DeWitt returns to action on Thursday when it travels to 1-0 Lansing Everett while Mt. Pleasant takes on defending state champion Flint Powers.
