The high school football season kicks off in less then one month and in Merrill the goal of the Vandals this season is to keep there string of playoff appearances going.
Merrill has qualified for the playoffs the past six seasons. Last year the Vandals qualified for the Division 8 playoffs with five regular-season wins. Merrill dropped a 43-21 decision to Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart in the first round of the playoffs.
Merrill opens the 2012 season on Aug. 24 when it faces Bridgeport. The Vandals then play St. Charles on Aug. 30.
